Job Description

**ARC Academy \| Senior Trainer and Course Designer** **Insurance Statutory Accounting** This role is not for most trainers. It is not for most accountants either. ARC Academy is building a training platform for **insurance statutory accounting** that actually works. Not surface\-level content. Not theory. Real understanding of how statutory accounting operates inside insurance companies. The kind that changes how people think and operate. We already have one exceptional trainer. We need a second. This person will partner closely with our lead trainer to build and deliver a full curriculum of over 80 courses focused on **insurance statutory accounting**, including concepts tied to NAIC reporting, statutory financial statements, and real\-world insurance accounting workflows. If you are looking for a typical instructional design role, this will not be a fit. If you are looking for a pure accounting role, this will not be a fit. This role sits in the middle. **What You Will Actually Do** * Design training courses that take learners from confusion to clarity in **insurance statutory accounting** * Teach live sessions (initially only webinars) on topics such as NAIC reporting, statutory financial statements, Schedule P, Schedule D, and the mechanics of the annual statement * Break down complex statutory concepts such as surplus, reserves, RBC, and statutory adjustments into understandable pieces * Partner with Subject Matter Experts who will handle the deepest technical questions * Anticipate where learners will struggle with statutory concepts and design around it * Continuously improve course content based on real feedback * Step in as a backup to our lead trainer at any time * Help scale a training platform centered on **insurance statutory accounting** that must be both rigorous and human This is not about presenting slides. This is about helping people truly understand statutory accounting in an insurance environment. **The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here** You are a teacher at your core. You know how to move someone from where they are to where they need to be. You are also comfortable with **insurance statutory accounting**. You understand the language. You know what an annual statement is. You have seen or worked with NAIC reporting, or at least understand how statutory financials differ from GAAP. You do not need to be the deepest expert in the room. But you must be able to speak credibly about: * NAIC reporting * Statutory financial statements * Core schedules such as Schedule P or Schedule D * The close process in an insurance environment * The difference between GAAP and statutory accounting You care deeply about clarity. When something is confusing, especially in a statutory accounting context, you do not move on. You stay with it until it is clear. You are comfortable leading a room. You can read people. You know when to pause, when to push, and when to ask a better question. You take ownership. If a course on statutory accounting is not working, you fix it. You are humble enough to partner with Subject Matter Experts, but confident enough to lead the learning experience. You have high standards for yourself and for the work. **What Will Disqualify You** This role is not a fit if: * You rely on slides instead of understanding * You cannot hold the attention of a room * You are uncomfortable being challenged in real time * You do not understand **insurance statutory accounting** at a practical level * You have never been exposed to NAIC reporting or statutory financial statements * You prefer structure over figuring things out * You are not willing to take ownership of the learning outcome **What We Are Looking For** * Experience in instructional design, training, or teaching complex topics * Working knowledge of **insurance statutory accounting**, including exposure to NAIC reporting * Familiarity with statutory concepts such as reserves, surplus, RBC, and annual statement structure * Ability to explain statutory accounting clearly to others * Strong communication and presence in live settings * Ability to simplify without dumbing down * Comfort working alongside senior experts and executives in the insurance industry * High personal standards and strong work ethic **Our Culture** ARC Academy sits inside TAC4 Solutions. We operate on three principles: Personal Responsibility Edification of Others Pursuit of Truth We care about doing things the right way. We care about people. We do not cut corners. **The Reality** This is a narrow role. Most applicants will not be a fit. But if you are someone who loves teaching, understands **insurance statutory accounting**, and wants to build something meaningful, this may be one of the most rewarding roles you will find. **Other Factors** We are looking for the right candidate. Then we can determine if this is an employee (part\-time or full\-time) or contract role. The right candidate will help us decide what makes sense for them and ARC Academy. Much TBD. Pay: $40\.00 \- $150\.00 per hour Expected hours: 10\.0 – 40\.0 per week Work Location: Remote
